Quality Audits

ASSET Aviation International specialises in aviation, aerospace and general Quality Audits.  We audit aviation Quality Management Systems (QMS) of air operators, aerospace maintenance and repair organisations (MRO), suppliers and service providers against general and aviation specific quality principles.  All of our quality audits are conducted to internationally recognised standards (ISO 9000 and 9100), using internationally accepted audit methodologies and full-time ASSET auditors from our Technical Co-operational Unit the TCU.

We believe in standardisation and we believe that our audit results should be replicable by others.  By auditing to consistent standards, your company benefits from the hard work of scientists, specialists, academics and industry professionals who developed these global standards; we believe that quality audits should be measured against global best practice and not personal opinion, this is why our clients return to us, year after year.

Aerospace Quality Management Audit -
AS9100

Auditing against Aerospace Quality Management Standard – AS9100 helps companies reduce costs by minimising waste and errors and increasing productivity.  AS9100 contains nearly 100 requirements specific to aerospace, making it more relevant to your aviation business.  This Standard is used extensively by airlines, manufacturers, suppliers, and government agencies around the world to ensure that products and services are safe, reliable, of good quality and delivered consistently.

FOR OPERATIONS AND SUPPLIERS

Auditing against Aerospace Quality Management Standard AS9100 offers a strategic business tool which can help your company ensure that business operations are as efficient as possible.  The standards are written by scientists, academics, specialists and industry professionals for the purpose of making the industry better – so by following them, your company stands a better  chance of reducing costs, waste and increasing productivity.  Benefits of conformance to the standard include:

  • Cost savings – Aerospace Quality Management Audits help optimise operations and reduce costs;
  • Increase customer satisfaction –  improve overall quality and increase customer satisfaction and sales;
  • Access to new markets – help overcome trade barriers and open up global markets;
  • Increased market share – help increase productivity and competitive advantage;
  • Environmental benefits – help reduce negative impacts on the environment.

FOR SOCIETY

When products and services conform to International Standards consumers can have confidence that they are safe, reliable and of good quality. For example, SAE and ISO standards on aviation quality, fuel storage, potable water or equipment design are just a selection of those that help make the world a safer place.  There are thousands of aerospace and ISO standards.

FOR GOVERNMENT

SAE/ISO standards draw on international expertise and experience and are a valuable resource for governments when developing regulations.  National governments can benefit from auditing against SAE/ISO standards for these reasons:

  • Expert opinion – SAE standards are developed by experts from 60 Committees composed of business leaders, engineers, and educators. By integrating an SAE/ISO standard into national regulation, governments can benefit from expert knowledge without having to call on their services directly.
  • Opening up world trade – SAE/ISO standards are international and adopted by many governments. By integrating standards into national regulation, governments help to ensure that requirements for imports and exports are the same the world over, therefore facilitating the movement of goods, services and technologies from country to country.

QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS (QMS) CERTIFICATION

Certification is not mandatory, but it is good for your business and we recommend it.  If you choose to have your system certified by us, then:

  1. Get your system ready – build it so that it conforms to the standard, complete you own check of your system, then invite ASSET to audit;
  2. ASSET will independently audit your system.  We’ll do a pre-audit (stage 1), write a report which describes what we found; you fix any problems, then;
  3. ASSET will conduct the Certification audit (stage 2), which is a detailed, full system audit of how your processes work and how they match your documentation from stage 1.  The purpose of this Certification audit is to verify that your management system is fully implemented and complies with the standard requirements, then;
  4. Certification will be awarded, providing that all non-conformances have been resolved and your management system meets the requirements of the standard.

The ASSET Aviation quality certification will demonstrate your achievement in managing a quality management system in conformance with the ISO 9001:2008 standard.

CERTIFICATION MAINTENANCE

Once certification is achieved, periodic surveillance audits are needed to ensure the system is adequately maintained.  The frequency of the surveillance audits depends on the size and complexity of the system.  Each surveillance audit will review some of your organisation’s processes, and over a three-year cycle, all elements of your system must be reviewed.  Certification is valid for three years, and renewable after the triennial re-certification audit.  This is similar in scope and duration to your initial certification audit (stage 2).  This re-certification audit, then replaces your initial audit certificate and the three year cycle begins again, with intermediate surveillance audits, followed by the triennial re-certification audit.

Prices

Our rate sheet depends on the country where we work, and the scope of the project.

But our approach to business is this: we listen to your needs and carefully determine how to provide a product to you that is useful and needed, and delivered on time and within budget. We won’t try to sell you stuff that you don’t need, but we will speak up if we think you do; we won’t talk about your business with others, and certainly won’t reproduce or publish any of your writing.

We’ll keep your files safe; we’ll respect your customs; we’ll pass savings onto you when we can, and charge a fair fee that is auditable and traceable to a published rate sheet. We believe that if we conduct business this way, we’ll do good in the industry, and also make some money so we can pay our people and our bills and keep a little aside for the future. Please call to discuss our professional fees for quality audits.
