Consulting
The people who come to your organisation, to guide to and advise and offer assistance in highly-technical or practical matters, are the same people who work at the ASSET TCU. Our consultants are all operational personnel, active in their field of expertise, trained in effective communication and ready to work with you and your team.
Our approach to consulting is cooperative; with you we fashion sophisticated plans, new designs, tailored to your capacities and goals. We help you move closer toward your goals, beyond compliance toward elegance and excellence of operation and service, on the ground and in the air.
This is how we go about conducting consulting projects in aviation.
OUR CONSULTING PROCESS
We start by meeting you, either in person or over the telephone. From that first meeting, we gain an understanding of what it is you are trying to achieve or change or improve.
-
We meet and listen to your needs and define the problem.
Firstly, correct analysis of the problem is crucial. We often find that clients can describe the symptoms of a performance problem but not necessarily its cause or how to change. This is where our experience adds value— we travel the world auditing, researching, and teaching—and the by-product of that work is a collection of knowledge of both good and bad practices. We use this knowledge to help define the problem and draft an operational plan—targets, performance measures, resources, risk, timelines and, of course, fees, for your consideration and approval.
-
We plan a course of action.
It is often the case that good advice is left in the report, unread, unused and stored in a computer or filing cabinet—a waste of money. For us, the most effective consulting results in a plan that is achievable—something that is realistic and something that will accomplish the goal. This step is where we refine our plan, acquire resources and start to build the business tools you will need to not only see the project to its conclusion but to measure its effectiveness. We use standard industry business tools and processes with global case studies, statistics and literature to explain our point of view.
-
You put the plan in place—we guide you.
You learn best by doing. Consulting is no different—if you don’t act on the plans we develop, if you don’t do the work yourself, if you don’t manage your resources and learn to monitor and review the performance of the operational plan, budgets and productivity, then you will forever be reliant on consultants. Our role is to address the issue at hand, but it is also to show you how we do it. If we work alongside your people, showing them how to do the job—how to apply the business tools we give them and lead them toward a successful conclusion, then your people will report to executive management that the job is done and done well—not ours.

Prices
Our rate sheet depends on the country where we work, and the scope of the project.
But our approach to business is this: we listen to your needs and carefully determine how to provide a product to you that is useful and needed, and delivered on time and within budget. We won’t try to sell you stuff that you don’t need, but we will speak up if we think you do; we won’t talk about your business with others, and certainly won’t reproduce or publish any of your writing.
We’ll keep your files safe; we’ll respect your customs; we’ll pass savings onto you when we can, and charge a fair fee that is auditable and traceable to a published rate sheet. We believe that if we conduct business this way, we’ll do good in the industry, and also make some money so we can pay our people and our bills and keep a little aside for the future.
